Should I do anything to these scuffs on a brooks saddle? Is there anything in particular I should do when breaking it in?

Dunno about the scuffs—from nether region piercing? Shoe scrapes while mounting?—but my Brooks has gone a bit matt, presumably due to damp from sweaty bum, is there anything to be done other than riding it?

Lots of lore about Brooks saddles as a quick Google on proofide will testify. Did any come with the saddle?

Lovely lounge, thank you. Think the boat might be fairly quiet generally.

Bought second hand, never had a brooks before so have no idea what to do or expect. Will look into proofide! Cheers

That's neat, how did you fix the clamp into the tube?

how did you fix the clamp into the tube?
Same way Kalloy did, pressed and bonded. You have to take the donor seat post apart to know what size socket to bore into the top of your custom tube.

You could also build an arbitrarily long tube with the top formed to take what I always think of as the Syncros clamp, you can find chinesium knock offs to this day to get the donor parts, no glue or precision measuring required
Or just buy this jtek 31.8×520/580mm Brompton post
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/seat-posts/520mm-jtek-titanium-seat-post-for-brompton/ which is pricey but saves all the trouble of finding a machinist willing to make you a custom tube for under £120

Or this aftermarket telescope to fit a 27.2 post in a 31.8 hole

Once a week for a month.

That's for shagging your wife after the honeymoon

Do the proofide thing once or twice a year or when necessary particularly the underside if you don't have mudguards. For leaving it out in inclement weather use a blue shoe cover from your local swimming pool to avoid any soaking up of water. Avoid leaving it wet as mould will start.

Got the dentist wednesday. Praise be.

I don't have any eyelets on my bike, what are my options for full length guards? £40 max, I guess. -

Best dremmel knock off? Needs to actually cut metal/plastic etc.

Crud raceguards with the velcro attachments?
-
• #114270
I don't know how often it pops up, but I got one from Lidl and it works perfectly at cutting stuff with the included bits.

Multimaster? It’ll be Fein…

The old ones any better than the mk3?
Wiggle reviews seem unsavoury to tyres over 23, I've got a 32(?) on the back. -
• #114273
Thanks! Did it come with cutting discs?
-
• #114274
I have Mk3, and only just fitted them.

I want to make some stickers which combine my interests in bikes/cycling + growing and eating organic vegetables (and/or regenerative farming).
But I can't come up with anything I like.
Like all of my stickers I'm making them because I want one and some for friends and then possibly in the shop.
Any ideas?
Hmm, thanks. Now I’ll pay for running my hoses as short as possible.
