get a free trainer day account, connect to a free training peaks account, send workouts from trainer day to training peaks, it appears on you wahoo which will control your trainer in ERG mode, post session analyse on intervals.icu or strava
i will never pay the cunts at zwift/trainerroad/systm etc

Heaven forbid someone earns some money for their work :P

Thanks. Not sure I got this right, but these "planned workouts" are strictly an elemnt feature? Not immediate help to me if so, but good to have another option to consider.
Been using Zwift lately, but I'm basically just doing my own simple ERG workouts, and paying 15€/month largely for the crummy scenery is starting to get maybe a bit tired.

Still happy enough with Bkool. Half the price of Zwift and I make my own workouts to do or ride a hilly virtual loop if I fancy something different
Unless you're following a plan, I think there's way too many different workouts to choose from ( especially on TrainerRoad), so I much prefer having a small but
easygood selection to choose from -

Hmm I am not sure but I'd assume garmin also supports this?
-

Good point, I'll need try this out. At least Trainer Day mentions sending workouts to Garmin.
Edit. Ummm... not sure why I haven't looked into Trainer Day before. Seems like it does pretty much exactly what I want.

if you are fan of a certain session on zwift, just search for it on TR and it will show up

Has anyone bought a reconditioned trainer from Wahoo? Looking at the kickr at £850 vs £1100 new
-
• #4310
I don't generally have a problem with reconditioned purchases, particularly ones I'm going to thrash and sweat all over within 5 mins anyway, but I think the reconditioned ones are V5 and the new ones are V6 (released last week). So, if you are happy with V5, it would actually be cheaper to get a new one anyway from here..
.. or there's £900 from Wiggle etc..

• #4311
Yeah I've got a reconditioned kickr core, it's been fine. I feel like reconditioned is potentially less risky as they've already fixed any issues!

I’m sorting out my indoor trainer (Elite Tuo) for the winter and just realised that I’ve only got a hydraulic disc braked bike to put on it. Is this a bad idea? I’m guessing I won’t be able to disconnect the rear brake and will need to pray my GF remembers not to brake on it.
-
• #4313
Pop the brake pads out and stick a bleed block in there and then you can brake away with no worries
Or just jam some folded up cardboard between the pads, so they can't move

I’m guessing I’d need to remove the brake disc to do this?

Elite Tuo
Ah, it's a wheel on trainer. I was thinking of a direct drive where you could potentially have the brake pistons come too far out of the caliper
I don't see that operating a disc brake while using the trainer would be any different to operating a rim brake then
-
• #4316
Yeah, if the wheel is in the bike still, there's no issue. I used to stick a spacer thing in mine on the wheel off trainer but we're both so used to turbo now we don't bother with it. You can get thinner ones that just replace the disc rather than having to take out the brake pads btw
-
• #4317
I had a training wheel with no rotor for my turbo, after a bit I put a rotor on.

Normal people will just drop their normal bike on their normal wheel on turbo trainer.
Weirdo.
(I had a turbo specific wheel for a period of time and just found it annoying)

Turbo specific bike FTW

It was when I had cyclocross tyres on both wheelsets.

That's what the Shiv is now. All the aeroz for the fan :)

In Oz I had a Minoura rim trainer (ooh nurse) so it could be used with MTB tyres still fitted.

• #4323
A what?
-
• #4324
You heard.

Side rollers hit the rim braking area so it doens't matter what tyre you have. They're a bit shit but this was the 90s.
