  • Understood. This is a 20" wheel shopper bike. seems common to run with a long post. Id assumed dropping a long 31.8 post beyond the top tube junction, then adding an inserted long smaller post would give the frame more support as I've effectively reinforced the whole seatube?

    There's long and long; how long do want to go? I've survived with 365mm out of the frame (500mm overall length) but that's with stout seat stays and top tube meeting right at the top of the seat tube.

    I've seen several builds with some extra support added.

    I'll have a measure and see how much seatpost I'll need.
