Thanks for your sympathies, it was a dark time in my life, and I still find myself bawling my eyes out over it.
We have a (full) Border Terrier now (my wife needed a dog in her life, I was against it) but it turns out he helped us both with the healing process.
I don’t really think you get it until you have a dog that if you lost them prematurely you’d be gutted.
It’s great getting home and they are there even if you’ve had a pure shite day.
