  • I have a car logbook related question which someone can hopefully help me with:
I bought a second hand car in May - I applied for the logbook, but split with my now ex and I have no idea if the logbook arrived or not.

I've now moved and gotten a new address, but I don't know which DVLA website path I should take - as I've not received the logbook, I don't have the V5C registration certificate ref, but the other option seems to be filling in a V55/5 form which looks like a massive pain in the arse.

Is there something I'm missing? Hopefully there is...

  • FWIW, I've used a couple of custom stupid-long posts for a long time without damaging my frames, but I had custom shafts made to take the heads off posts which started life as heads pressed and bonded into plain shafts. I still don't recommend it; do as I say, not as I do 🙂

  • How long did the rail strikes disrupt services for the next day?

Say you had to be somewhere the day after the strikes next week and only had the option of catching two trains (different operators) or biking 50 hilly miles, which would you do?

I have to be at my destination by a set time, so can't risk being more than 1/2 to 1 hour late.

(note, support the strikes of course!!)

  • How long did the rail strikes disrupt services for the next day?

I think no service before 8am.

  • If you ask in here you might get a better answer

  • And at 8am there were so many people on the platform at Forest Hill, that they shut the station.

  • @allsop At my place of work the company have been falsely blaming next day disruption on strike action in public statements. My union have been calling them out.

  • Thanks tester.

It's defo 31.8, existing seatpost is stamped as such (small folding bike).

    I'm considering the following options

    Long 31.8 alloy post

Alloy 31.8 post with top chopped off, slot cut in and a smaller post inserted

Offcut of 531 tuning with a seatpost inserted in.

Why is seatpost in a seatpost a bad idea?

  • Why is seatpost in a seatpost a bad idea?

It's not so much the telescope that's a bad idea as the stupid-long seatpost however you achieve it. The frame is designed for a certain bending moment where the post enters the seat lug, adding a post longer than the frame designer intended can overload this junction.

  • Strikes have been postponed now

  • I'm going to a fancy dress party.
The costume must start with the letter S.

I need something easy and cheap because I'm lazy and skint.

    Give me some ideas guys.

  • Sexy anything.

  • Sexy Queen to keep it topical.

  • Sexy swan.

  • Sexy salamander.

  • Sexy Subaru Impreza.

  • Sexy spoiled ballot.
    Sexy soiled nappy.

  • Serial killer.

Just wear your normal outfit, their neighbours always say "he was a normal looking guy"

  • Skint

    Wear what you want

  • Should this bushing not have come out? (Left)

Can I replace this with one off a force mech?

Its the barrel adjuster from a red 10 speed derailleur

  • Long shot, but does anyone have any of the old Curious People mixes? @DaveH?

Edit: Actually found a bunch on Mixcloud

  • The mixes on Mixcloud are the only ones that are left. Lost most of them when a computer got stolen a few years back. 🙁

  • Yeah I've just skimmed through and I think the ones I was after aren't there. Cheers anyway mate ✊
