On a separate note, I am thinking of getting one of these for my boat. I wonder if it has any relevance to this application?

Clever, but not cheap.

What the directors want and what they're allowed to do are two different things. I can't see how they can object. It's not like you're setting up a manufacturing facility.

I don't know of anything I can do if they say no - there's no one to appeal to.

There is usually provision for alternative dispute resolution if there is a disagreement. Typically mediation, then arbitration. The RICS provide these services.

Noted thanks.
Solar install- I think I might just get everything from Victron, looks like it’s hard to go wrong there unless you undersize stuff, but it’s unlikely to catch fire just because the build quality is crap.

Batteries, why you so expensive

woah!
why not just go AGM for about 1/4 of the price?
Edit: perhaps more like 1/3rd of the price.

• #336
I agree - in an environment where you are not concerned about weight or space what are the remaining advantages of lithium? Not to mention the additional fire risk of Lithium / LiFePo
-
• #337
AGM- with a bit of luck you get 50% of the rated capacity, unless it’s cold, when you don’t. Also, craps out after far fewer charge cycles so has to be replaced at a rate of around 4 AGM to 1 LiFePo4 battery.
So! 200Ah of AGM = 100Ah of Lithium Iron.
-
• #338
Sure, but it’s more than 4x as expensive per Ah when you factor in the cost of the more sophisticated BMS. Plus the fire risk.
-
• #339
BMS?

Battery management system. Guessing.

• #342
These batteries have an integral BMS

They have, without my permission, used a picture of my doors on their Twitter feed to advertise their business.

Facebook and Insta too 👍
-
• #347
Are they your doors if you haven't paid for them?
-
• #348
I honestly don’t know. They’re taking me to court for the remaining balance rather than trying to get the doors back, does that help?
Although I think their t’s and c’s state that they retain title until the full balance is paid.
IANAL so I don’t know where that lands legally.

Would only be fair to comment underneath with your Trustpilot review

Hah, hadn’t thought of that
Particularly if it means you don't employ their trusted favourite contractor at rip-off rates!
