Petor of Dear Susan (and now runs Bespoked) wrote that article. Really good, his article on Ted James is great.

Made a hybrid for a
pharmacist's daughteranesthesist's wife, she's tiny but the saddle needs to go up a couple of inches once she's used to riding again. It's was kinda fun.

What are the full specs of your setup ? Or did i miss that ? Would be interested in what size tire you have and how the chain clearance is with the wider tires and mudguards

There’s also some Alongha (sp?) long reach brakes that I’ve noticed a few people using for this sort of thing. They seem ok for the money.

Just seen those but they do look a fair bit cheaper fabrication wise.
I've been wanting to go up to 25c on my second commuter, and after seeing this 650b mod its given me ideas to get more comfort and better mudguards.Heres a photo of it as of now as i raided the "practical" parts for my other daily. And a photo of its previous version as an actual daily.
Its now got a different saddle and a raceface 44t nw chainring.
In 700c i dont have many choices as 25c will be a max for this frame.

Currently running 650x38 with the fenders. This frame was able to clear 700x30 before I did the conversion. I had to crimp the chainstays a bit for the 38s to fit. I have a tool that I had a machinist make for me. Clearance is tight with fork, and I had to trim the fender for it to fit, but it works. If 25 is max currently on your Colnago, I imagine you may only be able to fit 650x35s without fenders.

700x30 is already pretty good compared to 25c comfort wise.
I wiml have to check clearances to see how big i can go but a 650 between 30 and 34 would already be not bad especially if i can get a propper set of fenders on it too. Thanks for the tips 👌 im gonna look into to it and see what i can do

For what it’s worth my frame took only 700x25C but I managed to get 650x35B (even 38) but don’t know if it was true to size, but better comfort still haha!
I have a pair of R559 I can send if needed that I can do for not too expensive, if needed shoot me a PM 😉 -

For those who are following Terry Barentson on Twitch. He's a bit of a douche, but tolerable for short periods.

I've wanted a #dadbiek for ages and finally managed to get one built up. I'll change to 1x at some point but a very cheap groupset was too good an offer to pass on. Chuffed with the R500 frame and the weight of the build, it's perfect for getting up the hills of South London. The Jack the Bike Rack took forever to turn up but it arrived just in time for this and I'm pleased with how it's working so far.
