I was actually about to order a new NATO from WatchGecko, so went to Zulu Diver to use the code but it said I can't use it. Maybe someone already snapped it up.

Oh, weird - just had another look to check I copied it right and it says it's only valid for £35 or over but otherwise I guess someone must have done!

Ah that would explain it, was only going for an £18 strap, but useful if you're buying a couple.

"As the space race began to heat up in the 1960s, the brave men and women that conquered space became international heroes. In 1963, astronauts from NASA’s Mercury flight program visited Japan to much fanfare. Rolex seized this opportunity by introducing a special release of the 1016 Explorer. This watch was essentially identical to other 1016s from that time, but featured the words “Space-Dweller” on the dial instead of “Explorer”. The Space-Dweller was produced in very small numbers and was only available for a short period to the Japanese market before being abandoned by Rolex."

Nice new 40mm 44GS with the latest 9SA5 hibeat in it (which means it's eight grand, but also under 12mm thick and with an 80-hour power reserve).

That's a fair price - alas, to stretch the Top Gun references, my greedy eyes are trying to write cheques my bank account can't cash.
(sorry for the dredge - didn't want to be rude and not reply!)

Friday arvo strap change. Been wanting to get a better fitting rubber strap for the Samurai, I think this crafter blue fits the bill.

New strap. NATO's are a bit cumbersome aren't they?
