Mirror screw?
M6 with a 5BA internal thread came up fairly quickly on Google - no doubt other sizes exist.

I'd say outside diameter approx. 3mm - 1/8" even - Google will give actual sizes.
Can you take the damaged bits to a physical shop rather than online? Somewhere that can do measurements or offer up a replacement to see if it fits? (I'm guessing you don't have access to Vernier calipers)
