  • If you need a tool to help there's a thing called a gutter scoop which can be useful in some situations. Or the drop flap on plumbers rods.

    With mine it's an annual chore to empty the hopper but the gutters take care of themselves.

    Like this? Basically doubled my work time as I couldn’t get nearly as much out with it as I could by hand, so had to go over it again. I had it down to about a 25 minute job (7m x 10m roofline) before we had the leaf screens put in (still have to check this fall to make sure they’re working as advertised).

  • It's useful if you're not keen to get your hands in there. I have problems with the skin on my hands from so many years working with chemicals and rough materials so I have to be a bit careful where I put them.

    It also depends what you are likely to find in there. Around the victorian terraces there always seems to be a lot of sharp mortar. Sometimes people have thorny trees in the vicinity too.

    Totally take your point about it being faster with bare hands if you can handle it though. Marigolds is about as bare as I can handle these days.
