Yo.
I need some rack help. I just bought a new gravel bike (Dolan GXA) and I am probably going to use it as my commuting bike through the autumn and winter. I have a Carradice Nelson and some Apidura/Restrap bar bags, but there are going to be days when I want to ride in and take a backpack/satchel with my laptop etc.
So I am thinking front rack. The fork has mounts at the drop-outs and a mount at the rear of the fork crown so I think this rules out - for example - the Specialized pizza tray/mount or whatever it's called, which seems to rely on mid-fork blade mounts and a front fork crown mount.
Anyone got any suggestions on what might/will work for me? I've attached a few photos - sorry they're a bit busy in the background, I just snapped them quickly with the bike in the lock-up.
Cheers!

TA Carmina 50/34.
Might change the big ring to 46, it's a bit large at the moment. -

I wouldn't mount anything on those mounts. They're for mudguards, not any sort of load

Yeah that, but there are mounts for a rear rack. Something like a Tumbleweed would look nice.

It mounts on rack mounts and the fork crown, since you have no hole in the fork crown and no rack mounts it's not really going to work for a front rack. Other racks that don't care about this tend to mount on the handlebar and QR/bolt on axle, but since it's TA that won't work either.
So yeah in short if you want a front rack get a new fork. I'd suggest just getting a narrow rear rack and using panniers though eg. tubus fly or vega.

I have a bor yeuh front rack, but also have a drilled fork crown. It mounts on those mudguard eyelets and has been fine with up to 3kg load (steel frame though). Would agree with phildas on heavier load.

That there is no real randonneur or classic light French touring thread is something I noticed early on when I joined the forum.
Not much on classic French bikes generally on lfgss, other than classifieds. Perhaps I am wrong? On the other hand, the forum has so many other sides to it that I enjoy, so that's all fine. The threads on 50s and 60s British bikes for starters, and the touring and camping threads.

An option to consider might be the Elkhorn by Old Man Mountain.

I left my frame bag on my bike once with my lights and tools in, as you do and it all got stolen within 10 minutes.
Very annoyed
Honky Tonk or Cross Check? CC every time. So more versatile.
