  • Doesn’t show up the piss stains as much?

  • That would be black you fool! Those of us who commando are unbelievably careful in ensuring a one hundred percent dry chap after a jimmy when wearing chinos! There is no hiding drips in beige chinos.

  • Tena pants for men is your only salvation

  • Middle age, taking my mother to see my slightly dementia dad in a care home at present. Fuck me it’s depressing .

  • Feel for you. Been there.

  • Not much fun is it? Seeing a parent deteriorate and then die brings home how life is over all too soon. Jeez, happy days...

  • Best friend has dementia, since his mid fifties.
It is horrible. He won’t last long.
I told my gf if I get to that point just give me a shot of morphine.

  • You are correct, weight bearing exercise really helps.
My problems are entirely due to my own over-competitiveness.

  • Oddly I was having a very similar conversation with a chap I know who is a nurse this afternoon. He has put his back out hoisting a sixteen stone fella in his fifties out of bed who can do little more than say ‘fag’ and ‘toilet’. Can’t walk, can’t dress himself, can’t wipe himself.

At that point I just hope I have enough left to ask someone to get my shotgun.

    It is heartbreaking.

  • 3 days at a music festival (thankfully near my home so I could drive back and sleep in my own bed), no drink or drugs but I am exhausted today.

Dancing like a lunatic in a forest and my already arthritic thrice operated on knees are not happy with me. Feeling v v slow mo today, had to take a nap mid morning (dogs woke me demanding food at 6am).

  • You are The Green Man AICMFP

  • Have you considered dance training?

  • trance draining

    Possibly

  • Strangely a number of people asked me where I learned to dance over the weekend.

  • I have a pair of Porsche Design readers for that purpose. They don’t fold to wallet size but they don’t take up much space, can slide into a top tube bag or even down the side of a saddle pack, and are fairly robust. More than good enough for unplanned bike adjustments etc. The 8801 is the most compact and can sometimes be had at a not too painful price.

  • Heading back north to my parents to help out and take my Dad into hospital to get a new hip fitted leaving my partner to see our 15 Yr old start his last year at school.

  • Never too old to learn to dance at the weekend

  • I genuinely don't know how to find out about performances by DJ/ bands that I love any more. Follow all of the fuckers on social media and watch and like all their videos on YouTube and still miss them all every time they are in the UK. The algorithms seem to pass me by.

  • It was a festival put on by Optimo from Glasgow with help from the Ransom Note crew. They know how to throw a party - so I bought tickets blind before they even announced the line up.

As such I knew less than 1/3 of the acts but I trust JD and Keith and they didn’t let us down. Only 500 people, two stages and one more little sound system run from a caravan.

It was clear it was a line up the optimo boys wanted to see, as they checked out all the artists and were also busy running around helping with everything from running the gate to litter picking. It was only down the road, have already volunteered to help with next years event.

  • Clearly not.

  • This and also the fact even if I did know I’ve got fuck all chance of going.

  • Khruangbin will probably be playing the street party promoted by earnest mum two doors down with Comic Sans flyers that I am trying to move house to avoid.
