Obviously it’s quite personal, but I exceed the breathability of even the best breathable waterproof jacket in barely any time so end up wetter on the inside than outside within about 20 minutes id all but the easiest of runs, and that’s in winter.
For a wet winter run usually wear a long sleeve running shirt and shorts on the basis the less fabric there is to absorb rain the less soggy I’ll feel, yesterday was just my usual vest and shorts and other than the shuffle home as I finished my run 800m from home I barely even noticed the rain.

I basically run in the same kit year round, just add a buff and gloves in the winter

Definitely depends on the person.
I run fairly warm so tend not to layer up much throughout the year.If it's warm and raining then I'll just wear what I'd wear if it was dry and accept that the trainers will likely be soaked. I have a tumble dryer with a drying shelf attachment for shoes so that makes it easier.
If it's cold and dry then fine, maybe stick on an extra base layer.
If it's cold and wet I'll likely not run.

What bags do people use for longer training runs, for me that’s like 35km. Want to carry a couple bottles and some nutrition really. Got a last minute spot on the london marathon and need to ram in what training I can coming from a cycling background

Recommendations for any trail events to sign up for next year from November onwards? Something around the 30-50km mark with plenty of vert.. Ran my first ultra on Sunday – Squamish 50km with 2200m vert – and came 9th female, so I'm keen to keep this fitness up and see how I do. Moving back to Bristol from Canada in November and excited to explore local hills again.

A pair of usb fans like this will dry the wettest trainers (or cycling shoes) within a working day or overnight. Quite useful if you get wet feet a lot. Slows down the development of stink too.

I've been using one of these for long runs or fast hiking for the last 18 months or so. Has been great for me.
UTOBEST Running Backpacks Lightweight Hydration Pack Functional Running Vest 5.5L https://amzn.eu/d/276bB0U
Fit can be very specific to the individual for this sort of thing but I'm six four and relatively large chested and it fits me well and my wife is 5'3 and her one adjusts to fit her well too.

TT done. Managed a 5 min pb which I'm delighted with. Hard to get as motivated when you're just running on your own. Good luck at Dorney, hope it goes well

King Offa's Dyke Race this weekend. DNF for me. Stomach issues from the start that I couldn't resolve, even water wasn't sitting right and coke, which I never drink normally, was the only thing I could stomach. Slept a bit at the 80 mile checkpoint to see if that would help but sadly not. I wasn't able to eat or drink enough to deal with the distance and heat so was fading fast and another 100 odd miles would have just been a miserable death march. So I called it there.
Became a checkpoint volunteer for a bit and got some more sleep before helping to close down the checkpoint at 6am and travelling to the next one to help there a bit before heading for home. Seems a lot of people were dropping out!

I suppose most of you already know the guy - for those of you that do not here's a very nice article on The Ghost Runner: John Tarrant's story of triumph and tragedy

Thanks, managed 1:20:57, so 2:10 pb which I’m pleased with although would have like to have been 27 seconds quicker but (plays violin) the course was long by 150m according my watch and there were 11 dead turns!

Ran a trail marathon today - 45k with 1200 ascent.
On the back of zero training (other than 10k -15k per week casual jogging), as I was standing in for my brother that dropped out on Thursday.
No records broken by a long shot, and a slow 6.09 (winner was 4 and change), but I am in absolute bits.

Bloody hell, well done Dan!
Really like my peg trails but they changed the eyelets to a solid plastic on the 3s, still a good shoe but the 2s just look so much nicer
