Waiting list and it came to my turn .
Difficult to fault it , I have a Komodo which is also great value… bit of a puck though , very chunky -

Nope, no 37mm. I don't know what the 38.5mm was, I made my excuses and left at that point.
It was like we were having two separate conversations: I mentioned the L2L, they told me (again) that the titanium version would be lighter etc.

I think it’s quite typical from ADs that are primarily jewellers (the ones that stock Longines, Tissot, Bremont etc). The staff often just aren’t into watches in the way nerds like us are.
On the other hand the guy in the Breitling store the other day (I wanted a quick look at the new Superoceans) almost wouldn’t let me leave, chewing my ear off about my watches, his watches, etc.

I fitted the weighty bracelet, I like it a lot .
Shades of Pelagos ?
They give you a choice of white or black date wheel

This looks good, minus the paperweight size dimensions for my wrists. Thailand limited edition of 1000pcs.

I wish the Pelagos had drilled lugs.

Suggestions for the following please - I'd like to buy a general purpose GADA type watch. Quartz, wears small (my existing watches are 37mm and under ), decent water resistance . Black/ blue / dark dial . Decent proportions and looks . Budget up to £500
Happy with new or used . Any recommendations?

Just to check I'm not going crazy, to adjust the time on a casioak you hold the adjust button down right?
Mine just isn't doing anything. I've tried pushing it down with a small coin.
Any other ideas?
Cheers

I think the Seiko SUS field watch reissues nail this brief. Import only but the series models are easy enough to get hold of (I think).
35mm, 100m water resistance.

Yep. Top left button. As soon as you press it the display should start flashing "SET" and then after a few seconds it goes into setting mode.

Certainly fits the brief , though there are only a few Seiko's that do it for me design wise

Doesn't have to be <37mm , just something that wears compact . So a little bigger dia. with short lug to lug would also work

Depending on what look you're going for, there's the 35mm Tissot PRX - https://www.tissotwatches.com/en-gb/t1372101104100.html

"go anywhere do anything", a daft way of saying a robust, versatile , everyday watch

Oh.
Citizen Promaster Tough? [cough see upthread cough]
Longines always seem to have long lugs. So did they have a 37mm in?? I'm interested to see what the silver wears like.
The 38.5mm, was it the sub seconds edition?? They do the cream and black which I tried and liked, but as you say, lug overhang ruined it for me. Would be interested to see if the all black crosshair version sits differently as the case looked slightly different I thought compared to the other 38.5mm.
Edit: Sorry basically what @edscoble said, missed that.
