  • Very desirable road bike. Thats what used to be called 4-seasons, right ?

However i can't decide if the display is hh or nodder

  • I could have done with a motor today.
Tough. I'm not riding that far again, it's shite

  • It's definitely erring on the side of nodder but it got rid of the under stem junction and it was kinda useful riding climbs in the dark where you can't see your cassette by looking down anymore

  • do it again but faster.
(nice ride and nice bike :) )

  • I am a broken shell of a man. I couldn't have done it very much faster. 27k on a good day perhaps

  • No need to worry, I think its very impressive to ride a bike this long at all.

I’ve done some stupid rides but this is an awesome achievement mate

    🤩🤩🤩

  • Oh well done ! Average speed is very very decent, for this much elevation.
You didnt do yourself any favors by heading northe east towards hackney though, not great for morale

  • makes me feel sick just thinking about that kind of distance.
    impressive bike, impressive ride.

  • Well done mate. Great pace as well.

  • That's what happens when you ride with a bunch of east Londoners

  • Fucking hell. I used to get upset having to drive that for work. Unbelievable effort!

  • Brilliant effort!

    it's shite

    BDHU would sort you out

    #internetbikefit

  • 😅😅😅💀

  • Go you! That’s some solid wheel spinning time.

  • So long story short, I have the opportunity to get a custom frameset which normally would be firmly outside of my price range. I can get more or less whatever I want so I need to mood board.

Road bike wise, I'm fairly happy already. I have my Ti winter bike which I designed and had built by Waltly and I've got (but haven't finished building) a Supersix, a size too small for the slammed summer whip.

Fixed gear: I sold the fixed bike when I moved house in August and I do still look on in envy as my idols YML and GLWS etc do their long fixed kent rides however I'm currently in Sussex and it's bloody hilly. Whilst I'm no stranger to grinding up and down a few lumps, I don't think I would take a fixed road bike out that often unless it was an organised ride which aren't super often.

So GravelRig™. I've got an Arkose, it's rad, it's the perfect gravel bike. But I'm not attached to it sentimentally like my other bikes so I think I'll swap it for a custom jobby.

  • I am anticipating an excellent mood board

  • pump and dump, get the people back into Arkose then announce you are selling

  • I might make a pdf

  • Sounds exciting, look forward to the mood board.

Can i get first dibs when you're ready to let go of the Arkose pretty please?

Clearly missing both spring and autumn bikes

  • It really is fantastic, and I still plan to continue with the build of it. I have a vision. The replacement will take probably 12 months to come to fruition. I just need to spec it at the start of the process before the long wait.

  • You sure can. Do you need steerer left uncut or can I trim it? :)

  • It's a medium right? Mines pretty comfortable with just the stock (15mm?) cone spacer. Your cone spacer looks similar, maybe just leave me 5-10mm above in case i want to use a chonky stem (mines low stack 38mm-ish)?

  • Correct! I was going to find a low stack bearing cover and slam it but I've been riding it with the conical spacer and I'm ok with it. It's not the stock one, it's a columbus carbon one I had in the spares but it's the same height as the original, which I still have.

  • aren't geometries totally different on those two gens of arkoses ? headtube twice as long or something
