  • You haven't worn that in a while.

    Dig it

  • So many nice details on that watch.

  • Sure is a lot of watch for the money. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the vintage watch market now that it appears the Rolex hype bubble is bursting. As with all things old and collectible, scarcity and condition are the main drivers and there'll only ever be fewer pieces in existence so I predict a softening of prices but not too significantly. Saying that, there sure are less people pulling the trigger on watch forum sales pages.

  • Speaking of which, are Watchfinder open to negotiation on their prices or do they dig in if you try?

  • No direct experience, but I recall someone on here haggling.

I think if you are serious and not being ludicrous it is worth a crack.
If you are not willing to pay their asking price, what harm does it do to offer what you are happy with?

  • Happy weekend everyone. Recently got this one in trade and the quality is actually incredible. Love the plexi glass.

  • Surprised u gone WMT after so many top marques...

    How does it compare?

  • Got it in a trade recently, so cost me just over £100. Can’t really compare to the real thing, but for the price, the quality is insane. Bevelled edges on the case, nice, solid crown action (for the Miyota or whatever movement is inside) and the glass… you just can’t get plexi like this on modern watches. So, overall a lot of fun for the money for sure.

  • Sounds a bit like my alpha.

Inside COSC too until it broke.

    2nd one now. 😁

  • Tried a Longines Spirit 40mm, while I was getting a link taken out: too long across my wrist. I'd have liked the titanium one on a strap, but not paying new now.

My Superocean (42mm) sits much nicer and continues to reward my choice. The lip on the minute track catches the light sometimes and almost glows. Overall I think it looks better in low light.

I asked to try a 37mm Spirit and was offered a completely different Longines in 38.5mm. But helpfully I thought, they did tell me they would adjust the bracelet on purchase.

The part of the cost of buying a watch from Breitling, that goes towards making it a pleasure, is money well spent.

  • The Longines’ lug to lugs is insane, is the Superocean shorter?

  • Definitely!

  • Oh wow that’s so much shorter! Definitely look like it sit better.

Also keen to learn about the Spirit 37mm, it’s lug to lug are more reasonable on that sizes.

  • New keyboard day today

  • That's nice. If you move it on let me know. Understated.

  • Half of my holiday watch selection. Brought the ti Helson too for when I’m planning on going for more than just a little splash in the sea. 100m on this though seems to be fine swimming about.
