I think the guards are there to stop enthusiastic jet washing from blowing all the grease out as much as anything else.
Whatever- I think it shows that thought has been applied and I’ll find out over the next couple of years how well it works.
Jibb is now together, rear brake not quite where I want it but I’ve ordered some Root levers which will mean another bleed, so I’ll put some heat and vibration into the system this weekend to chase any air out of the calipers.
