Where are we on the shit pile?
Hi sorry for the rant. what makes campers worse than regular cars is carrying all the weight of cookers, showers, water tanks etc etc. Larger vehicles just have more impact. Using existing infrastructure and accommodation is much less impactful than taking it all with you, plus you boost local economies. But then maybe your camper just carries people, and you have a large family. I would simply suggest, travel light, leave nothing behind, use the train when you can, which it sounds like you probably try to do anyway.
Good call. Canal boats pump out the dirtiest pollution for sure, but I think the ecological damage caused by vehicles travelling to remote places (think noise pollution affecting birds, roads being barriers to the natural movement of fauna, the massive wasteland of infrastructure required to drive the cunting things) combined with the misty eyed belief of the occupants they are communing with nature AND all the CO2, and there's a higher volume of them, puts them at the top of the shit pile. People burning solid fuel on canals in cities are mostly just killing each other. It's wild it's still legal considering its so deadly. https://www.bhf.org.uk/what-we-do/news-from-the-bhf/news-archive/2020/march/open-fires-wood-burners-bad-health
