  • I downloaded Aliens: Fireteam Elite from Gamepass and it's pretty good. Co-op shooter against hordes of aliens, not the most cerebral but it scratches the co-op itch. I've heard Deep Rock Galactic is good too.

  • Any regular users of parsec here? I'm envisioning sofa-based city builders on my crap old laptop

  • I’ve fallen into the rather deep rabbit hole of Gameboy modding and I’m very close to buying lots of things. Though I also want to keep my childhood GBA stock so this has then lead to me looking at eBay for a second GBA to play around with. Really it’s just been a completely pointless waste of my day at work.

  • Have done exactly the same over the last year or so, and have also been weighing up if it's just easier to give RetroSix £260ish for their fully-modded 'Prestige Edition' and be done with it without risk of messing something up...

  • Their drop in screen is exactly the one I’d been looking at. Then saw they did repairs and cleaning as well so thought might as well send it off to be cleaned up and have them install everything I’d been looking at. The final price meant I might as well have just bought a fresh one like you linked haha.

  • I think the converting to ultimate is a one-off thing.

  • Same here. Loving it.

  • Now I just have to wait 5 years for the PC release of the sequel...

  • My EZ-Flash Omega arrived today and I've only had a very brief go with it but I'm impressed. More impressed that the 'include SD card' option I chose on the eBay order looks to have every NES, GBC and GBA game already on there with the most up to date firmware so just plugged the thing in and away I went.

  • More detail on this pls.

Also anything out there for game gears? I’ve just saved all my cartridges from my teenage bedroom but unfortunately the console is dead, and the analogue pocket + adapter is calling me but a spendy solution to play Ecco and a few sonics that no doubt fail to live up to my memories.

  • Any idea if these work with Game Boy micros? Have you a link to the one you got?

  • I got mine from this seller but think I got the last one as listing has ended now unfortunately - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255690027845

It's basically a cartridge that can plug an SD card in, onto which you just copy a couple of files for Kernal and Firmware and then some game ROMs from any ROM site, boots into the game and plays as normal. I imagine there's some technical magic in the background but it seems pretty plug and play, even more so with the SD card I got.

This is the site for the cartridge itself http://www.ezflash.cn/

@aggi Looking online it works with a micro as well, though might be worth checking if there's any additional stuff that needs to be done for screen ratios or anything.

  • Cheers. In the cold light of day that's probably a bit pricey given I already have a multi cart with Mario Kart and Mario World and various other stuff and a Retroid Pocket and a modded PSP I barely use if I really want to play other stuff.

Really need to actually spend some time sorting out the Retroid Pocket. It's a neat little device but I never really got it set up properly.

  • Actually on the Game Gear thing as well, there might be something here that would work for you. I've not used Retro Six at any point but just seen they have quite a bit of stuff whilst I flicked through the consoles list. Might be an ok point to start of at looking to see if their is any additional stuff elsewhere that would help. Possibly the repair service they offer would work out as well.

  • Yeah, I pretty much got it for some travelling I'll be doing as I say and then imagine I'll use it at work on lunch breaks and stuff so was happy to go for that to have a portable device that I can just chuck AA bateries into whenever it goes flat.

  • Apparently owning 2 arcade sticks isn't enough so I've now spent £200 buying bits to build a hitbox from scratch

  • That’s a good shout! Having priced up a repair on there, and knowing I’ve got a GBA I also want sorted out, the analogue pocket is looking like the more economic option. Hmmm.

  • What fighting games do you play (just assumption because hitbox)? The crossup stick seems cool, if a little wild.

  • Used to be street fighter but these days mostly just Tekken 7. Used to play some DBFZ which was fun and I play Guilty Gear Strive every now and then.
I'm not sure my brain could manage to use the crossup stick. I've seen some mad custom hitboxes with rows of buttons for doing specific moves with specific characters but I'm going to build mine pretty standard.

  • Started Immortality earlier; don't really do FMV games but from a quick play around it is kind of interesting. Will probably make me go mad soon enough though

  • Nice. Tekken seems very math but good for the extremely high skill ceiling so always lots to learn. I used to be big into street fighter and then guilty gear xrd and strive for a while, now I just doss about on multiversus.

  • GG Strive is a lot of fun, I should play it more really. I have multiversus on xbox and it crashes every time I try and join a game, what platform are you using?

  • PC via steam, works fine on there for me.

  • Tired of all these additional peripherals they're forcing on us these days...

  • Imagine how the guy who got shot by the recorder feels. Time to hang up the controller.
