I've just got an Iiyama G-Master GB3461WQSU 34" ultrawide monitor. I've connected it to my M1 MBP via a Dell WD15 dock

The monitor should have a display of 3440 x 1440 however I can only get it to recognise 2560 x 1440
Is this as issue with the doc or the HDMI between doc and monitor?
The dock and cable I was given by my old employer. The HDMI cable looks like a generic one so I'm not sure of the spec - it just says HD 4K UHD on it.

should be HDMI 2.1 for that rez.
if it works direct with display port then it’s the dock or cable.

Ok I guess I need a new HDMI cable then. Any type in particular or are they much of a muchness?

Not true. That resolution is just over 300Mhz bandwidth, meaning a HDMI1.4 port will suffice with reduced blanking, let alone HDMI2.0.

That monitor is sending a funky EDID, use Better Display to fix.
