  • Yeesh. Hopefully you've found a buyer that doesn't want it to become another Airbnb.

  • In three months’ time when you are completing the world will be a totally different place… I suspect the economics of Airbnb are a bit harder with £6k energy bills.

  • Like our Barker and Stonehouse sofa. 1500 quid for a 2.4m very deep sofa.

  • Ha that's similar to what I'll get. It's 1m deep too

    Ps. Nice place!

  • Thanks!- made the move away from London last year to be able to get a place we'd be proud of. Living room is the first finished room downstairs. (Father in Law made the rather nice TV alcove cabinets)

  • Speaking of alcove units, does anyone have any North London recommendations for carpenters to put wardrobes in to the alcoves either side of the chimney breast in a bedroom?

  • Has anyone had solar panels fitted in SE recently? What did you get? who did you use? How much did you pay? Any experience greatly appreciated.

  • You never showed us the place you bought

  • Haha! Still haven't completed dude. Before now (hopefully) the house hadnt been sold since 1967, and prior to that it was a freehold from the some big land owning charitable body in Dulwich. Solicitors are struggling to find out whether everything was above board back then!

Anyway. here is the little shithole! https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/121912016#/?channel=RES_BUY

    (we are not paying asking...)

  • Good location, apart from being south of the river. Looks like someone moved out in 1985 and no one's been in since.

  • yeah man. Every wall is covered in textured wall paper

  • Our place has textured everything including ceilings which apparently may have some asbestos in. I'm going to have to research how to tell if it is because I'd rather not pay for someone to strip it.

  • Like our Barker and Stonehouse sofa. 1500 quid for a 2.4m very deep sofa.

Where can i get something like this, but toddler-proof? :(

  • We thought it was dark enough to be red wine proof as well. It’s got sticky back plastic on it at the moment to make it cat proof too

  • very much this when there is a queue of people lining up to view/offer.
We kicked a buyer into touch without a blink of an eye (see up thread) as pointless conditions were added on adding 3k to get close to the other offers.
it’s a whole different scenario when a property is a hard sell and it’s sat there for months without a sniff which isn’t the situation for @ghostface
and looking at the other offers i would sit tight and only look at dropping if the survey reveals something significant and not stuf you can see on a normal viewing like the age of boiler/consumer unit etc.

  • We debated for ages over the colour of our nice new sofa, to then instantly cover it with a giant throw to protect it from the dog.

  • Thought the walls in this pic were a super nice pale green until I moved screens and realised it was the lighting - it would have looked really good in our hall!

  • ceilings which apparently may have some asbestos in

standard procedure is to get a plasterer to skim over so you have a nice smooth finish, no need to test as long as there is no intention to disturb

  • Exchanged today at 4th time of asking. Now got 48 hours to finish tidying / cleaning / chucking out. Movers are also hired to pack but there is still much to do

  • This is ours, and the smaller Harry

  • Ha, my 1st rental was a flat on Seeley Drive…15 years ago, now I feel old.

Such an easy place to live, great transport links.

  • Yeah seems like it will be a nice location. Proximity to HHV is also very good!

  • Nice! And nice floor.
I need to find a puff as none with the sale.

  • Very happy with Adrian at https://www.borkwoodandco.com/
Not cheap, but not the most expensive and he did a really good job on ours.
