according to this Brompton Gear Calculator , the stock 6 speed ratios are 33 - 40 - 51 - 63 - 81 - 99". For example, if you changed for the stock option 44t chainring, it would give you 29 - 35 - 45 - 56 - 71 - 87", so then your cruising gear is a nice-for-round-town 71", you gain a lower granny gear, but you lose your top gear.
Thanks ibob. Trying a few options in that calculator, changing to a 44T does seem like the simplest option, reducing the number of hub gear changes I make. I would probably miss 99 slightly more than 33, but overall it would probably suit me better for relatively little outlay. Cheers.
or you could always go up to 54t for 35 - 43 - 55 - 68 - 87 - 107", then your cruising gear is a slightly lighter but basically very similar 68"? decisions...
