World Unknown do a roller disco.
There's also skaters out most nights at North Greenwich, especially on a Thursday.

World Unkown = Roller Nation, right?
Our coach used to operate out of Newham Leisure Centre as Skating Haven for over 10 years, with healthy membership numbers, training programmes for kids during holidays, roller discos and roller derby events prior to Covid. Red tape and unwillingness by ActiveNewham for return has meant Skating Haven operating outside. Business ticked over during lockdown in summer months of 2020 and 2021 with social distancing in place including dance routines and step programmes.
Having a secure venue again would be ace in the borough as we continue discussion with Newham Council.
We want to bring roller disco and roller derbies back

It's at Roller Nation yeah, DJs by World Unknown.

I played roller derby for a few years. Great fun, but I've definitely lost a good few years off of my knees because of it.

Just got back from Roller Nation in Bruce Grove for some boogie-tastic rnb and afrobeats for a mates birthday. Haven’t been on skates since I was about 14 but found it super easy and intuitive. Can def see the appeal

I just got back from Roller nation tonight with a couple of mates.. great vibe, great tunes with the ‘bring your own skates’ crowd. The speed sessions at 10pm was something else, huge age range too, I reckon there were guys in their late 50s still had all the moves too.

Yeah it was a great mix on Friday too from young hipsters and local kids to old rastas gliding around like heros. Seems like a genuinely inclusive night out :)

I just got back from Roller Nation (again), this time birthday bash, great crowd 80s dress up, despite the music being from several decades,
still a shlep from my endz with added rail strike (overground) ..
however four hours of skating I certainly got my moneys worth,
same local regulars doing their thang and setting the standard, I may consider moving to N17

With the extreme weather lately, it felt good being out after sundown til midnight skating under the flyover with tunes, ice cream, rum..
I love the moves featured in this ATL roll

That sounds great! Was it a "bring your own skates" night?
-
• #43
Yep, it was a Skate Haven jam.. free.. he brings the tunes, we bring our own skates, own drinks, I treated our happy crew to McDonald’s and Ice Creams
-
• #44
Neat, where did you find the event?
-
• #45
WhatsApp group, lol..
impromptu gathering.. he has lessons there during the day for the kids. Canning Town
