    Presumably the same smooth brain gang who dreamt up VAR have suggested stopping the clock. This of course would nothing to speed games up, the real problem, just encourage ever more tedious sitting down and pretending to be hurt.

    The answer already exists, let the physio on the pitch during play as happens in Rugby. Injured players are seen more promptly, those feigning injury do nothing but deny their team a player. Serious injuries that need more attention can be given more attention by the referee blowing up.

  • A tedious part that really dampens the spectacle sure. And it's cheating.

    Why is there any need for the game to accommodate this form of time wasting I don't know.
