Responding to the MD chat from a year ago....Going through an old drawer I have 2 Sony Minidisc players. I seem to remember really enjoying the sound of the MZ-N1. Then I got the MZ-NH900 which was "Hi-MD" (basically could play discs that stored something like 7 x the data of standard MDs) but which didn't sound as good. Looking to test the MZ-N1 but don't have any standard discs. Anyone have any MDs or know where I could get one (preferably with music on) just to check whether it's still working?

I've gone back down the MD hole recently and ended up with a deck and portable. I've been buying used discs from eBay for roughly a £1 a disc.
https://stefano.brilli.me/webminidisc/ is great for Net MD, like your MZ-N1. You should be able to transfer a file using that to check it still records, and then plays?

When I'm near my MD again I'll have a look. I've got loads, just a question of what I can part with. Will be a week or 2 at least but remind me if I don't get round to it.

Still have that MD player with that remote and around a hundred disks.
I did mention some time ago there's never been a better time to collect CD's.
Also never mind about the specs of your phone. If you like the sound of minidisc, cd, tape, vinyl your old soundblaster card, whatever it is - enjoy it and try not to build a whole belief system around it.
