I have a pair of Pearl izum longs (no pad) which are a stretchy soft-shell material, zippers at the bottom and a hidden ‘gravel riding’ type pocket on one thigh for energy bar etc.
Forgot i bought them as i couldn’t do much cycling over the last winter but just tried them on and they are quite stretchy, probably not 100% waterproof though.
I have pair of Scott MTB goretex packlite overshorts for any downpours when out on the brompton, they will at least keep the rain off the top half of your legs.have a pair of no-rain sportful bibs but they don’t seem to do much now as they have been washed loads.
