He ships to the UK :)

Just can't justify the price, as nice as it looks...

https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/forks/thorn-raven-twin-tandem-fork-twin-plate-1-18-inch-ahead-matt-black-rear-boss/ has the right a-c and steerer, altho it doesn't list offset - or weight!
-
• #3655
Thanks looks in interesting option, but the lack of offset may affect handling potentially. Anyone on here know the numbers.
I guess weight aught not be a factor, it'll be heavy whatever option I go for -

I have a 1-1/8” QR Barnacle fork spare as well if anyone needs, unused...
-
• #3657
hmmm yeah looks like offset is in the 55-60mm zone, and the stock p2 would have been 40mm

Anyone on here know the numbers.
SJS are generally really helpful on their product pages' "ask a question" form, providing you ask them sensible questions.

I have one of those Thorn 26er carbon forks spare too (never used it). I can’t remember the offset, but it makes me go ‘ewww’ each time I get it out of the shed.
Cosmetically nasty, but bags of potential. -

Kind of hoping to buy a 26 inch bike from the 90s to make into a comfortable tourer for lo g distance. Has anyone done this ?
-
• #3661
Think it’s all anyone does on here these days

Trials forks can often be had in non-suspension corrected lengths and with a multitude of braking options
-
• #3664
That's full of very lovely bikes.

The pulleys on Zinn’s frames are a neat throwback to the Sturmey Archer gears we had in the sixties. He’s the only builder I’ve seen use 753.

I'm straight up drooling over all of those bikes.

So good. Hard to pick out my favourite from there.

Found this Legnano in the garage a few years ago. Apparently my wife won this in a competition on a kids tv show in the 90s.
And yes that’s 20 speed: 4 on the front and 5 on the back. Made of girders. Handles like it’s made of girders. I love it.

potentially interested for a friend! where abouts are you/how much you after?
-
• #3671
four on the front?!? and no chainset detail pic...?
-
• #3672
I know, right? It’s an Ofmega Sierra crankset https://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx?id=6209f42f-cbef-4a2a-a2e7-8268a780b197 which AFAIK was supposed to be a triple but looks like Legnano stuck on an extra outer chain ring instead of a bash guard. On the rear is a bog standard Shimano 5 speed freewheel. Boom- 20 speeds!*

Is it indexed?
-
• #3674
It’s indexed on the back, but the front works via a friction shifter plus copious swearing

I remember my mate had a gold British eagle with a quad at school. Was mind blowing but it def weighed more than my Raleigh ascender :)
if you want a ‘normal’ 26er fork like that, I can do you one for a tenner!
