The intention behind my comment though is to highlight that the local folks who set up small breweries/bakeries/roasters will be out of work whilst the multinationals will get my money because there's no choice remaining. Grim.

Those same businesses that had a huge business rate rise after the last election and another rise this year. I'm not sure how any believes the Tories are the party for businesses, or even human tbh.

In a similar vein some huge companies run at such fine margins they could easily go bust.

That's in many cases because they have a different entity holding the licences to their brand and so forth which they then pay to use, keeping profits out of the local businesses and centred in the licensing entity which is (entirely coincidentally) in an optimal location for tax.
