  • Madison are being absolute weirdos and keep sending me groupsets I've not asked for, is anyone in the market for GRX600 1x stuff with 175mm 40t chainset, RX812 mech and 11-42 SLX cassette and HG601 chain, no rotors, I've got 3 of the fuckers. RRP is about £875, can't see any stock online at the moment, but I think they go for £800-850ish, can post for £760 and a tenner from each of us to the forum.

  • The Focus? That's Finley Newmark's. Hunt had to custom make him some wheels! Stupid road boost.

  • thats my next bike

  • They keep sending you GRX groupsets that you haven't paid for?

    How odd.

  • We've had some on hold for bike builds but they're not meant to be sent out until we ask for them.

  • Ah! Still, they're keen.

  • I can't afford the fucking things and the return postage is a pain in the arse. I'll try and get them to arrange picking these up but figured somebody might want one whilst they're temporarily in my possession. Maybe I should do a classified.

  • Reviving this comment as am currently in Normandy with my gravel bike and can indeed confirm the riding is excellent here. Using the "OSM Cycle" map later on RWGPS the gravel tracks are marked either as footpaths (dashed brown lines) or double-dashed lanes. The street signs here mostly reference them as "Chemin de..." But that can be anything from unsealed road to gnarly 20% rooted paths strewn with loose rocks, which keeps things interesting. Some can be quite overgrown but sadly/fortunately not come across any wild boar yet and the worst has been some excessive bramble snags.

My main concern was that the marked tracks would be private, as is often the case for the same markings in the UK. But that has been totally unfounded, and indeed I've barely seen a soul while on the bike, punctuated by the occasional "bonjour" from passing walkers.

  • I bought that one because of the good reviews and it constantly fails on me… it doesn’t suck in new air.

  • Tell them. Their service has been good IME. They sent me a new chuck as my Tattico would blow off the valve above ~60psi (non-gravel srry). It’s not the mini pump to end all mini pumps as they lead you to believe - and it’s HEAVY. I prefer a screw on with a purge valve (Lezyne).

  • Same. Had one which stopped working quite quickly. Got a replacement. Same problem. Gave up

  • Blasphemy. Screw ons should be banned for all eternity.

  • I’m a rebel.

  • How do you live with those pedals hanging upside-down?

  • Actually it was hard in the beginning and I wanted to get rid of the pedals but got used to them and now only when there’s rush it is a problem sometimes. Now I tip them with the toe to be upwards. Would not recommend!
