@ectoplasmosis it’s a WTB/King collaboration from 89/90, basically a Chris King headset but with a the wtb grease guard feature. I’ve been looking for one for a few years to match a wtb wheelset.

Anyone know what bottle cages would have been used on a 92' Stumpjumper ^
-
• #3631
These elites were common place on mtbs back then. Many would have had specializeds own alloy e cages which are pretty generic looking even on the Captains bike.
Lovely example BTW 👌

I’ve got elite macan cages on most of my bikes, not just the old mtb. They work really well and often come up in sets in rad splatter colour ways on eBay.
My partner has a set of 3 in pink/black on her tourer which look great. -

if it is any help i had those coda budget cranks on my killer v in the 90s and they had 'sugino' very clearly stamped on the back of them. this doesn't make them bad at all (maybe LX-ish); the sugino 900 cranks that used to come on top end konas were better though

Nice bike, @SideshowBob.

Took this one from the attic this weekend. I have more bikes than time and it's truly a shame this one stays in the attic for 360 days a year.

Fork options for a 93/94 Kona Lava Dome. It's 1 1/8, was looking for something threadless, rigid fork. The ideal would be a Kona Project Two fork, but they're either threaded or cost a whole load of money.

Do you need it to be sus corrected?
-
• #3643
No, ideally not sus corrected, with an AC roughly 390-400mm
-
• #3644
I have a very chunky fork that might fit the bill. Disc brake only though
-
• #3645
Ah, need v brake for now. Thanks for the offer though. Any recommendations for a rigid v brake fork
-
• #3646
With that ac and with v / canti sockets you should be able to find some old 26” forks no?
I guess there are a few that’s 1 1/8th threaded but if the steerer is long enough that shouldn’t be a problem to run it threadless I believe? -

Would this do the job is to heavy and stiff? I've no point of reference

Stridsland Barnacle fork is what you want. Really lovely bit of kit!
-
• #3649
That is a nice looking fork but where can it be had in the UK? And it will cost me more than the whole bike with parts :D

You can buy it from his webshop. I’ve got one if you wanted to take a look when you drop off the headset press
Yes, he was right at the front of the elevated chainstay trend. So many bits on that bike that I never saw in real life back in the day.
