Thanks

Yeah can be done!
Another one I like is the disc brake 3 speed internal

great, thanks for that, much obliged.

Appreciate the offer but the cost is probably prohibitive to send one to NZ!

Anyone got a spare carrier frame (medium/the bigger one) kicking about? About to grab a Carradice bag but £40 plus postage for a frame only is a bit yuck. Don't much care if it's the version with a handle or not.

Hello Bromptoneers. Recently picked up my first Brompton, a sparkly grey P-Line to help with either end of my fairly long South Western Railway commute.
Are there any tips for the best way to travel with it on the train? There are no luggage racks except overhead, I don't much want to leave it unattended or spend over an hour standing by the toilets, but slotting it between the seat rows doesn't leave much room for my legs. Unless there are some rows with greater space?

Either stand with it in a doorway, or put it down by the doorway and sit in the seats by the door.
Depends on how full your train gets and how much you need to sit down. -

Definitely get a rack. If you can get the P line version one or if it fits H&H mini rack.
Game changer and helps to roll around on the platform and much stable when folded away position.

Another SWR rider here. Each carriage has a set of seats that are back to back. My Brompton fits in the space between them. Good if you can get to those seats first!

Nice to see someone get a little money off a new Brompton - (post 16647761 ^).
If anyone wants some accessories from brompton.com, and is spending £200, please pm me, I have another discount code

Thanks for posting the code - the referral you saw was me! Allowed me to get a rear rack kit and carrier block for my cycle scheme A Line... much obliged.

Just received a very cheap T Bag off eBay and the frame has turned up like this. Seller has offered a partial refund making the bag £45 posted, but do I:
a) use the frame as it is and hope
b) bend it back and hope
c) track down a replacement frame with handle (unlikely?) and be £40 worse off?

Accept the refund and get this frame? https://carradice.co.uk/shop/accessories/brompton-frame/

Ohhh good find! That’s perfect - £85 for what’s actually a very nice condition T Bag is fine then really

Worth double checking the size, but think it’d fit ok. Doesn’t look like the smaller frame going by the picture!

Turns out this is the trick I was looking for. Works best with the pedal folded which I generally can’t be bothered to do otherwise, but it’s perfect.

What are the options for slightly changing the gearing on a 6 speed Brompton? I often find that 4th is too low for general flattish rides, and 5th is a bit too high. That wouldn’t be so much of an issue if the 4th to 5th shift, the shift I make most often, didn’t involve both derailleur and hub changes.
Just live with it or is there a straightforward change of cog or chainring that might shift the whole range so that the most used shift is just the derailleur?

according to this Brompton Gear Calculator , the stock 6 speed ratios are 33 - 40 - 51 - 63 - 81 - 99". For example, if you changed for the stock option 44t chainring, it would give you 29 - 35 - 45 - 56 - 71 - 87", so then your cruising gear is a nice-for-round-town 71", you gain a lower granny gear, but you lose your top gear.

Could try the one on the previous page? Turns your 6spd into a 9spd
