Maybe. I'm not sure, they look a bit like Brembo narrow track racing discs. Either way I really like that 'multi-spoke' disc style. Just looks so 90s.

Oddly enough, they did work though. My mate fitted big FCRs to his and although they did liberate a pony or two, it was minimal and they left a hole in the midrange. I just like them because of the noise / look. Probably only worthwhile if you're doing cams, headwork.

You could be right, they look like the pfm cast iron disc I had on a bike.

Bit more bantam fettling yesterday. Having achieved a running engine, a semblance of tick over and pumped up tyres decided to investigate the many rattling noises. Looks like they were down to the seat, both rear shocks, the kick start lever and the petrol tank all being loose. Much quieter now and did an evening spin getting up to about forty ish which is enough on a boreen. Next step is to see if tyre technology has moved on since Avon ribbed tread as cornering was interesting.
Also need something to stick in / over the nacelle where the headlight used to be as lights have been dispensed with.

Really excellent! I wonder was there a big amount of work to get it to fit so neatly?

First full size practice pipe finished. Specs are from a 74 TR500. I ballsed up the last weld because I was knackered and lazy. Would cut and redo it if I was going to use it. Not bad though - about 9hrs work.
I’ve ordered a cheap slip roll which should make things way easier on the fit.

Looking stellar dude. It's awesome that this was all sheet steel.

Thanks mate. It's amazing the stuff you can do with some snips, a hammer or two and a bit of gas. Wish I learnt how years ago.

I’m back in the motorcycle ownership game.
Picked this up from Windermere on Sunday. Only made it to Gretna before the first breakdown though!
Ended up getting it running again just as my old man showed up in van to bring me the rest of the way back to Glasgow.
Battery is deader than a dead thing and the carb has its issues too (also seems to be wrong carb for the bike). I’ve got a load of carb parts on the way and doing stuff like painting the inside of the battery box while I wait for them to arrive.
Hoping it’s an easy fix and can get it starting a bit more easily.

This is what commuting on the GS does. 100 miles a day, around 60% dual carriageway. These TA3 lasted just under 7k miles.
Pilot road 6 going on during its annual service today. Let's see if they get more miles.

Should a tyre really last more than 7k?
Asking for a friend…

I had a set of PR5 on the tracer that lasted 9.5k but I was mostly riding around town.

I used to get 3k from my smt rears! 🤣
Yep, the mikunis are bad, wearing needles and ovalising jets.
