I'm just listening to a few of my old ones from a clear out at my folks and they were brilliant.
People always seem to refer to them as a flop that were only out for a couple of years. The truth is they were around for a fair time, were far superior to CDs and suppressed by the industry. They were also better than MP3's IMO for a fair time until you could actually get a reasonable amount of tunes on them.
So easy to make simple tape-style mix tapes, but with the advantage of being able to move tracks around, name them and fade them seamlessly into each other. Great things.
Mini-Discs.
