Fuck that would make Heath Robinson baulk!

Enjoying the fact that the whole of the ‘long tail’ part of the bike is there just to accommodate the huuuge battery and motor and the back is just a regular bike rack. Probably needs a photo for posterity…

perfect for people who want to ride a tandem but don't have any friends.

But at least he won't clip his heels on the bag

Got caught on ebay after that singleton deathtrap tandem and came across these forks, £75 seems a good price for skinny carbon forks, might suit a steel build after a respray?

As he says, it only needs paint to finish it. Best to paint the garden the same colour so you can pretend it's not there.

I really love that paint job.
I was pleased to see that I had £45 in my paypal balance that I'd forgot about, so it made the decision to buy this easier.
Thanks! -

Great buy! If it was a 21" it'd have been mine. 531c too, bargain!

I noticed the description leaves it uncertain as to whether it’s 531 or 501. But either way I’m not not fussed, lovely frame for not much cash.
I promised my non-cycling best pal that I’d build them up a nice bike on the cheap for their upcoming birthday. Had been keeping an eye out for exactly this sort of thing.
Already having thoughts about keeping it for my self… -

I doubt Orbit knew either. They were fuckers for putting 531 stickers on any old tubing they had laying around. I cut up a crashed one once, the tubing was like gas pipe and the tubes into the BB shell looked like they’d been mitred by a three-year old.

Aw don’t ruin it for me 😂

So that's why my Orbit tandem could be in two lanes at the same time. The stoker had panic attacks.
-
• #66066
Are they really that shit?
I'd maybe feel guilty about giving it to my pal if they are trash. I might just have to keep it. -
• #66067
Orbit's iffy quality control will likely yield variable results. I think the only way to know is to build it up and ride it. But of course if it rides well you'll want to keep it...

I maybe should have spent more than 5 seconds thinking before clicking Buy It Now.
Uch well, theres no going back now. As long as it doesn't feel like a big noodle, hopefully it will do the job. I'm hoping it will be like a stepping stone for my pal to get into cycling.

They were pretty bad, yeah. There’s a reason they were cheaper than anyone else.

I might have it off you if you don’t like it! Worth it for the fun paint alone :-)

• #66072
Aye, the paint looks great, I was like a magpie attracted to a shiny thing.
