  • Thanks for the comments gents. I went and done it already and bought a rotor BSA30 bb.
    Bought a SRAM bb30 crank locally over the weekend and not being overly enthusiastic about GXP longevity i'ld thought i'ld give bb30 a shot.
    SRAM still makes very beautiful 5 arm cranks for the money (now on 3 rival cranks and a force-set).

    I hate to say it, but if the crank is for bb30, the axle might not be long enough to fit through the shell and the bsa30 bb cups!

    The axles on bb30 cranks tend to be quite short since the bearings sit inside a bb30 shell.
    I had an 11 speed sram red bb30 crankset and the axle was very short meaning it could only be used with a bb30 bb.

    The bsa30 bb's are meant for 30mm axle cranks that tend to have longer axles on mtbs
