Exactly. While everyone is making money and the impact is yet to be felt (by them) nothing will change.

I'm going to fly and drive everywhere because, fuck it, I'll be dead by the time the planet is really fucked. walks outside to burn shopping bags for breakfast

Isn't fuel a tax writeoff for farmers already?
I think they got rid of it last year, to help meet emissions targets.

Has no one brought this monstrosity up yet?

Plenty of times in the Tdf and Pro Cyc threads and twitter.
Pro Cycling is definitely not in any way "green".

Fucking big range rover prick driving the wrong way down a road and through a red light to avoid traffic, school kids all around. He was "parked" up just round the corner diagonally across the whole quite large pavement, I was sorely tempted to make a last second right turn into the Tesco carpark as he was alongside me so that he could pay to repair my piece of shit dadwagon but I need it later to pick up my wife from hospital.

For fuck's sakes.
All cars gona look like that. Electric mini tanks.
Like the current -largely unchallenged- straight switch to electric is doing my head in. Instead of reducing car use, car companies have succeeded in just cementing "oh we keep selling same and more except now electric! see! good for environment" to keep on the dickery and unrestrained profits.
fucking depressing

I spotted this LHD good ol' USofA imported shitshow at ikea yesterday and it reminded me of this thread.
Parked with the back wheels up on the kerb and huge trailer hitch hanging over the pavement so it didn't stick out into the car park...
absolutely dwarfed the normal sized cars adjacent to it.
what sort of bell end would buy this thinking it's an acceptable thing to be driving on UK roads?i also witnessed a driver of a white evoke effing and jeffing at someone for holding him up for 30 seconds doing a parallel park. gammony head out the window shouting all kinds of abuse, also with his kid in the car.
If i was driving a white evoke, i'd be inclined to not draw attention to the fact.

Or just tied a load of frozen sausages to it.

I've noticed a definite uptick in yank tanks around Essex recently... one pulled up to a car boot sale I was at and a crowd of enamoured middle aged men swarmed it
-
• #446
Tbf it's pretty impressive as far as car boots go

Always enjoy seeing this thread bumped.

I wonder if the single occupant drivers of these things ever suddenly have the thought enter their heads, when using a vehicle the size of a living room through the narrow streets of a UK town centre, that they are completely ridiculous.

Shove a dry lentil in each valve stem.
Yeah - which comes back to your previous point - there is no desire for regulators to actually do anything that reduces emissions.
