I think he eased up a couple of days ago, realized he wasn't going to close the gap to the front and had a comfortable lead to not have to keep on with the sleep deprivation

Third after those two is basically a win, right?
Completely. Personally I would consider just finishing the course a win.

As would i really, if before the party.

When is the party? Presumably sooner than the snail?

I think you just made the party ;)
Steve Halligan home last night, couldn’t quite manage to stay up late enough to watch him home as I’m currently doing my own “solo with two kids for four days” ultra endurance event.
Levente Bagoly should be home sometime tomorrow (today Kyrgyzstan time)
Fighting with the snail - Eleanor Moseman has not long been overtaken by it and Sam Doody seems to be about 70+k behind it. The lanternes Rouges are Barry Hughes and Danielle Coffman, who despite not being a pair are basically in the same place -170km behind the snail.

Schermers off-road? I'd have thought the more upright position and body movements over the rough stuff would mostly mitigate that. Sure he wasn't just looking for extra storage space and it was a badly timed photo? :)

It's sellotaped on, though :)
It's a video on IG, maybe not full on schermer's but looks like he's struggling.

Sleeping though the night mate!

On the one hand it don't look safe, on the other I admire his dedication, on the other I hope hippyisalwaysright applies to the picture.

There might not be a lot of options when you're really remote out there

I know they did a full article before but they could have included Allan's bike:
Third after those two is basically a win, right?
