Vitus do a 120mm travel carbon xc bike and frame set is sometimes in stock. Available in oz through CRC?

Which models is that? The Rapide FS is 100 from what I can tell?

On my recent tour I stopped by Morzine, an old stomping ground for me from 2013 to 2016. Friends were awesome enough to give me a bed, a bike and a pass for a couple of days so my rest days turned into trail days.
Things had changed in as much as the people I know who are still there would rather go for a road ride in the morning than wake up from a drug binge. Which is right up my street nowadays too....but World Champs is going to be some shin dig!

Sorry that might be my local mechanic sending me bad info, he implied it was 120- I think he was just desperate to get me on a full sus!

The NS Synonym and the Vitus Rapid share the frame apart from the rear triangle, which gives the NS 120mm travel.. both are based on an open mold frame, not sure if it was an carbonda, so should be easy to get in Oz.

So I think the Vitus Rapide is basically a Carbonda FM936 ... Hmmmmmmm

Also consider the FM 1001, which is their trail bike frame.. Might be the better if you plan to ride some proper trails..price is about 1100 USD incl. Shipping

What @seb1977 said. It is a carbonda fm936. There is a massive thread on it here:
http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,2079.0.html
I have one that I bought off @pit. I really like it. According to the measurements of others on the thread above it can reach 115mm of travel with a 42.5 stroke shock. I now run it with 40 stroke rockshox nude shock so with a twinloc lever and a 120mm SID ultimate on the front.
Warranty support is also really good. I bought it used, and then had an issue with a possible crack near a bearing. It was so small that it wasn't really an issue (also could have been cracked paint). I messaged carbonda and they send me a new mainframe.

I want to carry over stuff from my hardtail. Especially my SID ultimate which is 120 travel. So the 1001 is probably not gonna work for that.

That's a pretty strong endorsement, I gotta say.
Tell me more about the twinloc lever? Does that lock back and front at the same time? My SID ultimate doesn't have remote ... Can that be retrofitted?Edit: looks like adding remote to SID means a whole new damper :(

Yeah, you got the answer on the sit already. But to be honest the two position lock out on the fork doesn’t do much for me. I normally use fully unlocked or the middle position on the rear shock (which I’ve set up to do very little on the fork). So twinloc with unconnected fork might work. If you did want to replace the damper and use the twinloc there is a three piston remote damper you can get through rams dealers.
I prefer the nude shock and twinloc to the fox dps pit was using as the latter had a regressive tube and the nude feels more supple. I also use the middle (reduced travel slightly firmer) setting a lot for climbing. I like that it makes the bb feel higher (less sag or less bobbing? I’m not sure) which makes the seat angle feel steeper.

Last point. Although I really like the bike, it does start adding up when you include shipping costs and the cost of getting a shock at retail pricing. A vitus work out better (you can increase the shock stroke when you service the shock and increase the travel that way).

Why is my shock squeaking ?
-
• #24770
Yeah, running the numbers I'm coming to similar conclusions. The shipping to Oz is pretty damn pricey as well.

How many hours since its last service?

Thanks for all the Peak District route advice.
We amalgamated a few of the recommendations and did 40km ish of Edale, Hope, Ladybower etc on Saturday. Beautiful weather (apart from the wind) and scenery with some excellent descents. Only one puncture but nothing a gorilla tape patch and a plug didn't fix.
Sunday I did a little Win Hill and Bradwell Edge loop with a few laps of the Hope pumptrack for good measure.

There’s a good chance it’s already overdue a service if the bike has covered 1000km. What does the manual say about service intervals?
The EXT shock on my Nomad, while excellent, starts to leak every 12 months like clockwork.

I'm currently exploring some enduro tracks in the north of Portugal. Very nice up here, would recommend! Really looking forward to get some bounciness in the rear of the bike though
