Wow, thank you everyone who responded. As I'm not the most patient person in the world I've decided to take the quickest/easiest route and gave a @jambon's leather belt technique a try. And it worked a charm! Now, I've fill it up to the upper limit mark and am anxious if it's not too much and how much damage could it cause? Probably not, as it's still within the limit, but just.
@bright I was considering getting a dedicated tool, but my new oil filter has a 17 mm nut integrated so I'd use it only this once to remove the old filter. I was also worried about it slipping because of cheap/imperfect fit.
@hugo7 I'll be following your footsteps very soon, as brake fluid will be due next year and I'm going to give it a go as well!
