  • yes, a decent multitool / knife / leatherman type thing would be a useful addition to my commute setup

  • Three people on my train carriage this morning...

    I was standing on Mon/Weds.

  • I quite like my Gerber Suspension. It's an old model but has a saw

  • Take only memories/leave only footpr~~[FX: sound of tiny buzzsaw]

  • I have cleared paths with this sort of thing I carry on camping tours. Well satisfying.

  • Fuck me how much rain?

  • Not enough rain here, that’s for sure.

Last week I had to stop in at the same pedestrian crossing whilst in full flow (with a lovely tailwind) on two consecutive days. And the on both days it was the same couple crossing.

  • Ever had to unscrew a screw embedded in a carbon rim? Bike lanes are shit.

  • On the tube the last couple days, had some jabs on Monday night for some travelling later in the summer and its left me wiped.

Still think the tube leaves me feeling worse than the jabs though, how do people do that every day?!

  • lovely drizzly commute this morning.
maybe just an illusion, but the grass was already looking a bit greener
and the smell of the rain - delicious!

  • Oof. That'll need two patches.

Now, will this downpour ease off in the next 15 minutes I wonder?

  • Latex tubes on your commuter? You ponce.

  • Busted, I’m still mainly commuting from my house to my house.

  • Normal commute, just the one WVM right hooked me, they got some abuse.
Is this a local face? Looked very on here

  • My super cool tark bike is destroying my body on my enormous 2mile commute and I've found that my work has a good cycle to work scheme. What's a good OTP fixed gear these days (that I can lock up without having a heart attack)?

  • genesis flyer? nice fat tyres for extra comfy / off-road commute adventure opportunities

  • Ever had to unscrew a screw embedded in a carbon rim? Bike lanes are shit

Wow, that's shit. How a new woodscrew ends up in a bike lane is a question - sometimes I wonder when I see broken glass stamped around on on the Q1 or whatever it's called now. I really do think there's quite a bit of intentional littering of sharp things aimed at bikes, but maybe I'm just paranoid. /ganjahead

  • PS how did the rim fare? You got a new valve-hole?

  • One rim, two tubes.
    One is bound to survive.

  • got overtaken by that guy who gopros his rise with his cat riding shotgun yesterday.

    Quite cool!

  • First time on a bike in over a week today, having had covid. A combination of slightly dodgy chest and a drop in fitness had me gasping up the slightest incline. This cycling lark is a mug's game.

  • Travis and Sigrid? Did Sigrid have her little goggles on?

  • Yes, a very clean hole punch through the rim as I rolled to a stop, really hammering it in place. I'm doubly annoyed as I was trying to turn off Gower St but a cab pulled to the side of the road right at the junction so I thought "OK I'll take the next left then" and bang.

  • After a quiet week cycling in the Netherlands always nice to return to a far too close passing taxi driver & selfish parking.

Reporting time... hopefully don't need to go to Psmi station...

  • Met a man (called Gerald) on a 1916 BSA and another rider heading from Swindon to Aylesbury on a loaded Giant heading to a wedding
    Good vibes this evening
