Thanks all for the feedback! If i can get my hands on one i'll take the plunge i think. My current bike has a pretty low front end, so i'm looking forward to opening up my lower back a bit.

Clearance wise - is it tight for tires that measure 25mm? ie. blow up to 25mm, or just 25mm on the label? My bike has clearance for 28mm's, but the tires actually balloon up to 30mm. I'd be keen to get some wide rims/wide tyres on there if possible.

  • I run 25mm tyres on 17mm internal width rims. Measured width is 26mm or thereabouts.

Officially the Super Acciaio takes 25mm but a friend has used 28mm for a Roubaix trip without any problems.

The clearance is tightest where the chainstays join the BB shell but that may have changed since the 2017 model I have. 28mm measured is a sensible max I reckon.

Edit: just remembered I did have some 19mm rims with 25mm Corsas that measured at 27ish mm. No problems.

  • I ran 25mm tyres on hunt four seasons wheels, 19mm internal 24mm external rims & the tyres did balloon up to about 28mm and had a “light bulb” 💡 profile which is not great but had no issues with tyres rubbing on the frame.

  • Like the others said, 28mm measured width is fine (I'm running 25mm Corsas on 21mm internal widths and they come to about that) but clearance on the NDS chain stay is only about 4mm on my 2018 model.

What frame size are you looking for? I'm thinking of letting my 55cm go to make space for something else...
