Now sold.
Ciocc 55 road bike
SOLD
A slightly regrettable sale as this looks nice and is a perfect size for me (I am 5-10). I had intended to take it on vintage rides / cafe runs, typically I never got around to it.
Seat tube: 55cm c-t
Top tube: 55cm c-c
Late-80s Ciocc road bike with Columbus tubing. Probably Columbus SL based on the sticker colour and weight.
It is in lovely condition, I picked it up from the original owner a couple of years ago. It has lovely pantos, chrome is excellent, paintwork (with full 80s fades!) is in great condition with a few minor scuffs and marks here and there, but really clean overall. No corrosion.
The only changes I have made are a different seat post and bars. It came with an incorrect size seat post which had been shimmed, causing some initial confusion as to what size it takes. I eventually figured it out as 27.2 after degreasing the seat tube. I swapped the bars from Sakae to 3T to match the stem. I also cleaned and repacked the hubs with fresh grease, other than this there wasn’t really anything to do.
It has a full indexed Shimano 7 speed group with Biopace chainrings. I can throw in some regular Shimano chainrings to give you the option to swap if you want a more standard setup. Campagnolo rims with Miche hubs. Brake levers are Campagnolo. 3T stem and bars. Ritchey seat post and a retrotastic ‘Cyclepro’ saddle with Titanium rails.
I have fitted up to 26mm tyres with room to spare, it might just about take 28s if you dial back the position on the rear dropouts.
£350 SOLD
Collection from my office in SE15.
