Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated images and renderings - Midjourney, DALL-E

A thread for images and discussion about AI generated imaging.

Just come across MidJourney - a text-to-image AI and has recently gone from private beta to open beta. The ability to create pleasing images has never been easier...

Will it replace designers or just the next step? is it art or just a pretty dumb meme generator?

Good idea for a thread! I've found DALL - E gives really good results too - and you get 50 credits on sign up

I’ve been playing about with DALL-E 2 making silly images of cats.

I like the iterations that can be generated, that can take you by surprise. Here the dragonfly took on the 'industrial setting' into its torso:

The Hayao Miyazaki one's great!
The Ai's use the Internet's images to learn from - it must be pretty good at cats.

How did you get an invite? Just join the waitlist?

Yeh it’s really good at animation styles. Some other examples from a prompt tip doc.

Yeh just signed up to the waitlist a couple months ago. Forgot about it and then got an email, probably six weeks later ish.

To create images:
1) Go to one of the "newbie" bot channels
2) Type /imagine and then whatever you want
3) The bot will send you 4 images in 60 seconds
4) Click numbered buttons underneath to get upscales (U) or variations (V)

Other important things to know:

• Once your trial has ended, become a paid membership with /subscribe or go to https://www.midjourney.com/account

My second post includes the text used to generate the image. Imaginative combinations seem to work well, they don't have to be a literal description.
