Small bathroom, 1200-1000 x 800-900 offset quadrant. Good point. Building a new stud wall so concealed hopefully isn't that difficult

Paint stripper on fireplace, left for two days seemed to work.
Here’s hoping the last black paint isn’t lead.

Our friends just bought and are extending, she keeps asking me easy-to-find-out-yourself questions about permitted development and planning. They've started work, and are only just realising that their bigger than 3m extension needs full planning permission. He's an architect who works for Islington Council.
I should probably tell them to google "party wall act" too

@chrisbmx116 Quote received back from EC1 for decking out bathroom in Crosswater stuff, £1,600 for shower set, tap, radiator after 25-30% discount. For that price I hope it will last 10+ years! Is there a reputable brand that does brushed brass stuff that would be considered the range just below around £1k maybe? Or are my expectations of prices way off and this is kind of what it costs for good quality if it's your home?

Pop up the road to H E Olby and see what price you can get out of them for the same? They are crosswater stockists and were generous with discounts for me, as well as a quick swap when a towel rail turned up damaged. Otherwise, when I was buying it all Britton Bathrooms as above were hitting me pretty hard with targeted content on insta that looked very similar.
Either that or nip over to Braidwood in the dead of night and steal all the stuff from my old bathroom that I am still sad about leaving behind 😭

Just a quick wetroom update, we had guests over at the weekend so it had plenty of use and happy to say it worked great. No issues keeping bog roll or towels dry and a quick squeegee to get the small amount of surface water down the drain after showering and the floor was dry within 10 minutes.
If we had the space I'd still prefer to keep it all separate but really happy with how it turned out.

Yeah I've already done Sids in Ladywell and Stonemans' in Catford and they all give the same range of discount. It's the first time I'm doing a bathroom and I'm just unsure how much I should be spending on this stuff and it's not like there's review of the stuff online to tell you which is best for which budget etc ...
A lot of those bathroom showrooms seem to stock the Scudo Core stuff from Harrisons Bathroom which looks good but can't find any info on it online and once installed I don't want to have to touch it again. And I don't know if I trust those showroom people to give me objective feedback on the products.

I am doing my bathroom at the moment and it is my first time. Also after some similar opinions.
I went for this toilet and basin combo from Trafalgar
Now I need an extractor (had a recommendation above) and LED mirror thing - so much choice out there on there.
Looking to get shower, shower tray, basin tap and shower cubicle from a local place.
Shower wise, not sure what to spend. Looking at R2 brand. Cheap concealed is a no go. I want something simple and classic. Not sure if this is worth 3x this
Shower tray, looking at a quadrant one and trying to decide if Scudo is worth 2x price of a Merlyn one. Edit - first one has 10 year g'tee otherone is lifetime, which will be a bit of the price difference but they look very similar

Anyone know where these cabinets are from?

Probably more likely to be custom no?
They match the other bits around the house and given the amount of wood work in that place, cutting a few circles in some ply and painting would seem like a trivial amount of extra work.

Not sure about the practicalities for a used kitchen, but it's a really lovely clean look isn't it.

Hmm ok I thought they might have been OTP
We’ve just got costing back for our work which starts mid-September and it’s making me 😢

TBH I thought those looked a lot like various kitchen companies (e.g. Naked, Holte) - I’d guessed they were laminate doors with circular cut-out handles. The doors go quite low to the ground as well so they could maybe be IKEA with custom fronts on?

I can imagine it's brutal.
My OH suddenly wants loads of things done, and I just know once quotes come in they'll just get grumpy and not want to pay what it costs.

Going to repost an ask from another thread as I know a few readers have had (or tried to get) their fronts done....
If anyone's had a front garden + drive done is there anything they'd recommend / learnings / shuddas /etc.
Links to mood boards would be a bonus. So far I've got:
- concrete pad for bike shed/similar
- Chris bin storage™
- lead water pipes
- car charger

Has the round cutout handles
Friend of mine did his ikea kitchen fronts himself with round holes. -

Very dull point, but you might want to think about having child proof catches installed at the same time.
We use a combo of stick-on ones for moderately dangerous and hidden magnetic for very dangerous cupboards.
If the finger holes are just like the

ones, then if you can have the magnet release behind the finger hole it would mean 1) you can always find it, and 2) limit wear. -
• #3948
Could be Ikea with Reform BASIS fronts?
e: hah too slow.

Just get ikea carcasses and Doug can do the doors. Places like Plykea et Co are quite expensive for what they are (but still a good option if you don’t have the ability to DIY or get someone else to make them).

where's that image from? - the ceiling looks a bit like what we're planning and I'd like to see some more images of it. thanks
edit: found it https://www.remodelista.com/posts/kitchen-week-studio-nencini-norwich-uk-alder-brisco/
and in answer to your question - One way they were able to cut costs on the cabinets: using Ikea base cabinets, paired with fronts from Naked Doors. The faucet is also from Ikea, as are the appliances.
For normal bathroom or small en-suite? My parents have a small shower room with all external taps and pipe work and it’s a nightmare to use as I’m always banging into the protruding taps/handles.
May be a consideration for you?
