• The only modification I made was to install a rubber V-brake cable cover over the expose cable on the rear. In flat-mount orientation, rain/SFAB/mud can follow the exposed cable into the outer, which is not good. I also run a cable oiler down by the BB on the rear outer so I can spray WD40 if I feel it’s getting a bit sticky. TBH I haven’t needed to since installing the rubber cover.

  • Great tip, this is the only problem I've found with cable disc! Are the cable oilers just to form a break in the cable?

  • You cut the outer to fit the oiler. The oiler has a small hole behind the rubber O-ring that is perfectly sized for a WD40 straw.
