I never totally got on with the 1x11 Rival that was on there. With this 3x9 I can comfortably pedal uphill at 5yo walking pace, which is important when dadbiking. I also have the top end to zip along plenty quickly for the sort of bike this is.
Long live the triple. And 9sp. And bar end shifters.
