  • Triple does make sense that you don’t have a gigantic jump between each gears, either too spinny or too hard.

    This is someone touring bike with a specific chainring for pulling trailers full of camping stuff.

  • That little ring is extra small! Is it on a Mtn Tamer, or similar adapter for tiny rings?

    You’re right about the gear jumps. I used much of the range on today’s road and single track ride. Felt great, though when I kill the middle ring I may swap in a 36 over the 32 that’s on there.

  • Don’t know, but I think it’s 17t inner ring that don’t get used until a trailer is added.

    Be wary of going 36t, as this have the potential of chain getting dropped between the small ring and middle ring with a bigger drop.
