Know any spots for easier trails? I'm in Weinheim and it feels like either gravel roads or serious downhill stuff above my pay grade. Probably why everyone is on a full suss (I've got a hard tail)
@crow would be up for some light trails when you are in the area

Not an expert here because now live in Australia, but grew up in Michelstadt. Saw quite a few trails in the woods east of town on my visit a few weeks ago, probably at blue level from what I could tell. Loads of forestry roads and smaller gravel trails everywhere also, some pinchy climbs up to the ridge if you fancy it, so it'd be a good chance to string together a decent size loop that has a few technical trails in it, i.e. https://www.strava.com/segments/23258204
Looking on Trailforks there seems to be quite a few blue ones around Zwingenberg/Bensheim as well, probably all off the Melibokus?
EDIT: Komoot seems to have a few routes for Michelstadt: https://www.komoot.com/guide/4744/mtb-trails-around-michelstadt
EDIT 2: If you can hack the idiosyncratic site design and German language, this looks like a great resource: https://www.mtb-geo-naturpark.de/
From Heidelberg it isn't far to Odenwald trails. Beerfelden bike park for example. Deffo would go for a trail bike there. Might not be enough for the bike park though
