What would be the odds that China actively worked to get Russia to invade Ukraine in order to draw NATO/US away from Asia-Pacific? And since Russia is a counterweight to US influence, could Ruzzia v. Ukraine become a China v. US proxy war?
Separately and somewhat strangely, Algeria and Russia have scheduled joint military exercises near the border with Morocco for this November, which is making Spain curious.
