Defo work better as a low frequency high impact option. Even better if that's 'cos they're garden/allotment grown therefore seasonal and more considered.

Who says McCain’s uses wheat?
There is a huge potato plant near me that supplies them, and they definitely use potatoes not wheat. -

I really like them. They make the house look and smell nice. They make me happy. I also like the seasonality.
Having someone come and put new flowers in my house every few weeks would be on my euro millions wish list.

The most baffling component ever. Genuinely rank.

You should listen to your heart and call a spade a spade, join the club and accept they’re not a diamond, they’re rough!

You both need a thorough clubbing.

that's small thinking, if you hit euromillions you could build a house with some kind of futuristic self-managing indoor plant beds spread through out. by law all new rich peoples houses seems to require to be made of mostly glass so sunlight wouldnt be an issue.

made of mostly glass so sunlight wouldnt be an issue.
Apart from the side which faces the 300 AC units and diesel generator needed

Funny you say that.
I would definitely have an indoor living wall, but also I'd have a live herb shelf in the kitchen with a sky light above and built in hydro system...TBH if we ever did an extension I'd try and design a less grand version of this.
I would of course also have one of those micro veg grow fridge things.

Dredging the TOIL discussion, I have worked in an office that militantly monitored clocking in and out times, 2 minutes late you got "docked" 15 minutes so would need to stay late to "Make up" the time.
If you got in early, or stayed late, without management approval you did not accrue time.I would clock in at 829 and be out of hte door 1700 on the button. IF they needed me to work late because of deadlines, I would tell them I need 48 hours notice to make arrangements outside of work.
They were unreasonable at every step, so I would be too.
I also have worked somewhere that acknowledged my job has a clear deadline and DGAF if you rolled in an hour "late" or flounced after lunch. But the expectation was there to stay until 7 to finish if shit goes west.
Which I did without complaint, 2 weeks of doing a few hours extra was always out-weighed by the 2 weeks of doing fuck all. -

I love the jobs where you spend a month or two doing 100+ hour weeks on client site, only to have some HR drone fuck try to give you shit for rocking in at 9:15 on a Monday morning when you're back on the bench.

Most of my career has been in flexible environments where you're expected to do the hours required. At times it's also involved networking stuff, so I'm not sure at what point toil would kick in if you've been drinking since 3pm. I've always liked the give and take, but I can understand why someone who works at the other end likes the certainty.
My experience of people is they seem to respond better to a bit of trust. I always remember talking to a consultant who's previous employer started militantly clocking their time, so everyone just gamed the system and started booking meetings to stretch lunch breaks. Likewise an old school sales guy who's boss mandated he have more 'lunches' just started ordering two meals when he went out.

"Bitch what? Have you seen my utilisation stats? Fuck off, cost centre."
Is the correct response.

I knew it was time to leave one job when my manager (who got in at 08:50) upbraided me for my constant lateness- which was interesting as I got in before him every day.

Zipcar.
Currently having a major meltdown and unable to make bookings or unlock any cars.
So my plans to visit my parents this weekend are fucked. I just spent an hour standing next to the car unable to unlock it because their app claims I have no upcoming or active reservations, and you unlock the car via bluetooth in the app.
After 45 minutes on hold the support person told me there was nothing he can do as they're unable to remote unlock the car either.
https://twitter.com/search?q=zipcar&f=live for some examples of people with bigger problems (missing flights as they can't get their stuff out of a locked car, etc).

People who don’t rinse the soap off stuff after washing it up, resulting in whatever they’re used for next, tasting of soap and ruining it.
How do people not notice that everything tastes of soap?!
Tbh, I mostly just hate people that are shit at doing the washing up.
Sounds like the first half of a rather blunt condolences card.
